Natalie

Practice Manager/

Technician

Education: YVCC Vet Tech program- first graduating class.  Licensed Veterinary Technician.

What you like the most about working in veterinary medicine: Every day is different- I always learn something new.

What you find the most challenging about working in veterinary medicine: It's sad when people don't think about what is involved in owning a pet.  When they are not able to take care of the animal physically, emotionally, or financially.

Your pets: Limbo- border collie who adopted us; Marvin- rat terrier who thinks the world is out to get him; MaryJo- cat with a pellet in the neck.  Three "rescue cats" and now we're a retirement home for a neighbor cat.

Your hobbies: Bocce ball, golf, bowling, gardening, watching old movies

Favorite food/movie/book/personal motto/hero/super power/etc: Favorite food- anything take out or restaurant.  I've been trying to learn to smoke/grill food.  Nobody is perfect, but they should try!

Technician/Receptionist

Education: CWU -2 years, Pierce college- vet tech program.  Licensed Veterinary Technician.

What you like the most about working in veterinary medicine: I love going to work knowing I will be spending my day with all the amazing pets we see here.  I'm so lucky to be someone that can actually say that I love coming to work each and every day.

What you find the most challenging about working in veterinary medicine: The challenging days are the days when clients have to say goodbye to their pet.  I've been a tech for many years and it never gets any easier.

Your pets: All rescues and three of the cats were bottle raised: Davey, Mia, Lucy, and Boo.  They are wonderful cats!

Your hobbies: Watching my son play college baseball keeps me busy in the spring.  My daughter plays high school volleyball so I'm busy watching many games.

Favorite food/movie/book/personal motto/hero/super power/etc: I love to watch funny movies- laughing just puts you in a good mood.

What you like the most about working in veterinary medicine: The knowledge and expertise veterinarians have never ceases to amaze me! Knowing they are there to help sick or injured animals is such a beautiful gift in this world.

What you find the most challenging about working in veterinary medicine: Seeing dogs come in wagging their tails or cats meowing...and knowing they are there for their final visit. I deeply empathize with the clients who lose a beloved pet.

Your pets: Dakota- 13 year old big, black cat who is sensitive, silly, and ridiculously spoiled.

Your hobbies: Reading, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, and working in the yard- planting flowers, etc.

Favorite food/movie/book/personal motto/hero/super power/etc: I love pretty much all food. One of my favorite movies is, "Stand By Me." Motto: Always give attention, love, and kindness to your pets- they're only here for a short time.
